Gravel Route

Border bash gravel ride from Breda to estate “de Utrecht”

Route Description

One of my favourite rides from Breda is to go to “Landgoed de Utrecht”, south of Tilburg. In this route variation I picked up my mate Jeroen from Dorst to ride together. I made the route start at Kamu in Breda again. A perfect place to load up before your ride or to finish off with coffee, cake or a beer afterwards.

This gravel route heads out to the east from Breda to Dorst and on towards Tilburg. The first kilometers are easy and start with asphalt and paved roads. More gravel and unpaved tracks can be added in this part of the route, but since it’s already quite long I chose not to when I did this ride.

Landgoed de Utrecht is the most eastern part of this gravel ride. You approach de Utrecht from the north (via Tilburg and Goirle) and cross this forest on one of the most beautiful and longest gravel roads you can ride to from Breda. This road alone makes the route worth riding.

From here you enter the final stretch back home. The area north of Poppel towards Alphen has some nice gravel patches and from there you quickly get back to Gilze and Dorst to ride back into Breda and end your ride at Kamu.

  • Tip: The route starts and ends at Kamu bikes & coffee, which is a great cycling inspired place to fill-up or rest-up
  • Tip: You can easily include more gravel and forest to make this a ride with over 100km
