Gravel Route

Breda gravel route halfway around the clock North to South

Route Description

I always like to gravel South of Breda, but my buddy Benny has made an effort of creating a loop North of Breda. I will ride and share the full Northern loop in another ride. But here we took off on a part of his northern ride and took it around the clock to end up South and return back to town. A really fun ride if you want something different in the area.

From the start you head North towards Terheijden and take some nice tracks along the channel to Oosterhout. Just before the town of Made the route turns back South again through some of the forests in the area. Make sure you check some of the crossings with the MTB tracks Oosterhout here. From here it’s further South towards Rijen and Gilze, to eventually turn back to Breda through the forest “Chaamse bossen”. All in all you get almost 40% unpaved tracks which isn’t easy to find around Breda other than in the Southern area.

  • Tip: The route starts and ends at Kamu bikes & coffee, which is a great cycling inspired place to fill-up or rest-up.
  • Tip: This is a nicely accessible route in any season or weather. Just some periods of heavy rain you may want to vary in around the “Chaamse bossen” forest

Since buying my first gravel bike in 2019 cycling has never been the same for me. The gravel bike quickly became my favorite bike that pushed my MTB and race bikes one place further back in the pecking order. I love how the gravel bike gives me the drive to explore. To set out for discovery of new routes and gravel roads, both in my backyard around Breda in the Netherlands and when traveling abroad with the family. Since that day in 2020 my time on bike and annual kilometers increased dramatically. Up to a point where I participated in my first ultra endurance events in 2025 where I finished FlatLands 300 and the Bright Midnight.
